February 2025

It was in the 5th century that the Welsh monk named Guirec founded Ploumanac'h in the Côtes d'Armor, in Brittany. Today it is the heart of the Perros-Guirec resort and an essential stop on the Customs Trail.

Located 5 minutes by car from Perros-Guirec, you can quickly reach Ploumanac'h from the Les Costans hotel, or take your time by walking the trail in 1.5 hours along the Pink Granite Coast.

Mandatory passage to Ploumanac'h

Ploumanac'h was elected in 2015 the favorite village of the French, and you will easily understand why. Arriving by the trail, you will first pass by Pors Kamor Cove where you can see the SNSM station. This cove is also a place that scuba divers love very much.

Then, arrive the Maison du Littoral and the Ploumanac'h lighthouse. Throughout the year, the Maison du Littoral houses exhibitions that highlight our heritage. The lighthouse called “Mean Ruz” means Red Stone in Breton. Destroyed in 1944, it was completely rebuilt in pink granite replacing the original gray granite. It has been automated since 1980.

A stay in Ploumanac'h

Ploumanac'h offers many leisure activities and places to visit during your vacation. The Ploumanac'h Tourist Office will provide you with information on activities.

The small beach of Saint Guirec is worth the trip alone. Changing landscape according to the tides, it is home to the Saint Guirec Oratory in particular. This small granite promontory houses the statue of Saint Guirec, the founding monk of the city. Accessible at low tide, this statue is a source of legend. Indeed, tradition dictates that any woman looking for love sticks a needle in Saint Guirec's nose. If the needle stays stuck, then the marriage vow will come true. In fact, the statue has been restored several times.

Another more discreet beach is located between Saint Guirec and the port: La Bastille beach, a small sandy cove. Do not hesitate to ask us for the tide times.

In the village of Ploumanac'h, you will find several restaurants, creperies and ice cream shops, as well as souvenir shops where you will find local products. You will thus be able to stroll through the village and admire the many small fishermen's houses that make it charming.
